One-night-only experience pairs a seasonal three-course feast with a handcrafted ceramic plate for guests to use during dinner and take home
The beloved Castle Hills restaurant, Clementine, will host Clay & Cuisine: 3-Course Feast + Handcrafted Plate on Wednesday, Aug. 26, in collaboration with San Antonio ceramic artist Jesselyn Gordon.
Reservations will be available from 5 to 9 p.m. for the one-night-only experience, which brings together Clementine’s seasonal cooking and Gordon’s handcrafted ceramic work. The three-course dinner is priced at $110 per person, excluding tax and gratuity.
Guests will choose one dish from each of three courses. First-course selections include Carolina fluke crudo with tomato, popcorn, basil and chile; quail à la plancha with sweet corn pudding and chanterelles; lamb dumplings with garlic, labneh and cilantro; and summer crudités with cucumbers, long beans, tomatoes, corn, peppers and “fancy ranch.”
Second-course options include Berkshire pork chop cotoletta with crème fraîche, lemon, Aleppo pepper and Parmesan; halibut en papillote with summer tomato salad and brown butter vinaigrette; smoke-roasted tri-tip with fennel and potato salad; and sweet potato gnocchi with eggplant and pepper fondue and aged Gouda.
For dessert, guests may choose from the Chocolate Clementine Crunch Bar; mascarpone mousse with almond frangipane and fresh figs; or apple hand pies with vanilla bean ice cream.
At the center of the experience is a handmade 9-inch ceramic plate created by Gordon. Each guest’s second course will be served on the handcrafted piece. After the course, Clementine’s team will clean, wrap and package the plate for the guest to take home as a keepsake from the evening.
Gordon will also have a selection of her ceramic work available for guests to browse and purchase during the event.
Reservations are required and may be made through OpenTable. For more information about Clementine, visit clementine-sa.com.
