Texas Based Food Truck Opens First Location in Florida

With multiple establishments across Texas and Louisiana, Clutch City Cluckers is celebrating the grand opening of its first ever food truck in Florida, at 2315 E Fletcher Ave Tampa, Florida 33612. Originally scheduled for September 27th - 29th, but delayed due to Hurricane Helene, the food truck will now hold its grand opening celebration from Friday, October 11th through Sunday, October 13th. Guests to the event can enjoy specials like free food, 50% off the menu, a ribbon cutting, entertainment, & giveaways throughout the day.

Clutch City Cluckers stepped onto the hot chicken scene mid-February 2021 in the midst of a global pandemic and a South Texas winter snowstorm that delayed their grand opening nearly two weeks. Despite these challenges, their first location in Houston, Texas gained rave reviews and buzz grew for the flame-covered food. 

The truck's menu consists of a 100% Halal menu featuring Nashville-inspired Hot Chicken Sandwiches, Cheese Topped Hot Chicken Sandwiches, Chicken Tenders, and Loaded Fries. With later additions of new menu items like tacos and even included vegetarian-friendly options in their fried cauliflower and salads. Clutch City Cluckers quickly became a household name in Texas. After addressing demands for their uniquely delicious cuisine, they set their sights on the Sunshine State.

In honor of their grand opening, the brand will host a weekend full of amazing discounts. It kicks off on Friday, October 11th with free food from 5pm-8pm, followed by 50% off their menu from 8pm-3am. The celebration continues on Saturday, October 12th & Sunday, October 13th from 11am-3am with 50% off all day, plus raffles to win gift cards & an iPhone 15. A complete lineup of events is below:

The new Clutch City Cluckers food truck will be open daily from 11am-3am and serves a variety of hot chicken, tacos, and desserts with several vegetarian options to choose from. With a location near local Tampa Universities, this Florida food truck is sure to be hit for all. 

More Information: Clutch City Cluckers was founded by Ahmad Kilani, a native of Irbid, Jordan. Kilani immigrated to The United States in 2015 to continue his education and obtain a Masters Degree. While attending school as a full-time student, Kilani also worked at Houston’s first Halal food truck. It is here that Kilani began to shape his vision and career in the food industry.

Kilani is now using his experience and knowledge of the food industry to bring Nashville’s Hot Chicken to Texas with Clutch City Cluckers. The food truck was part of Kilani’s mission to give back to Houston, the city which he states gave his career a major boost. Hence, the “Clutch City” part of the name is inspired by the nickname given to the Houston Rockets after winning both the 1994 and 1995 NBA championships. Even the logo, consisting of a chicken on a rocket, not only pays homage to the space city, but also Kilani’s vision for the business to skyrocket and represent Clutch City nationwide.
